Just checking in to tell you how much I’m playing and enjoying my new guitar. I’ve been playing it every chance I get – rehearsals with Kathy [Mattea], writing sessions, teaching and all the rest. I’m having a pickup system installed next week so I can take it out on the road with Kathy the week after that. We’ll be doing some shows in the northeast. And May will be pretty busy so I’ll have a chance to really check it out onstage.<\/p>\n
No critical feedback at this point. It sounds great and plays great! I’ll keep in touch. Thanks.<\/p>\n

Well, I got home and finally had a chance to play the uke in my own environment to get a sense of what it can do. It really is a sweet sounding instrument with that special “ping” when plinking up the neck, and there is a richness to the lower range not found in anything off the shelf. The intonation is spot-on. It also has a very complex sound with beautiful harmonics that ring on certain notes. It’s absolutely a new experience to play.<\/p>\n

I played it on five gigs so far, through as many sound systems, and it always sounds great. I’ve adjusted the mix between pickup and mic at every soundcheck and haven’t found a bad sound yet. It always sounds great and very stable, the sign of a good combination between instrument and pickup system. I think one was made for the other.<\/p>\n

I got it out of the case today after not having played it for weeks, maybe 4,5,6 I don\u2019t even know, and it was perfectly in tune and played like a dream.
